2007 Firefighter Red tm
This is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah  with just a touch of Petit
Verdot and Malbec.  You will note the black cherry and ripe berries nicely framed by
smooth, polished tannins and a generous finish. As a tribute to the men and women
who protect our homes and businesses, a portion of the proceeds from each sale of
2007 Firefighter Red will be donated to North Whatcom Fire & Rescue Volunteer
Firefighter's Associations. Wine critic F. Tessier describes our Firefighter Red blend
as "a gutsy, well-proportioned muscular red with good buns."

2008 Pinot Gris
Our 2008 Pinot Gris is the debut vintage from new vines planted at Sugarloaf Vineyard
in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA in eastern Washington.  It is a premium artisan wine that
is crisp, light and well balanced with pronounced pear, apple, peach and citrus on the
nose and palate and a soft lingering finish. This is our premier "sunshine wine".

2007 Chardonnay
The grapes for this vintage were selected from old vines grown on the sunny slopes
high above the Columbia River at the Gorge Amphitheater.  After barrel fermentation,
the wine was aged in both American and French oak barrels.  The pleasant nose of
pineapple and citrus blends well with a mild integration of oak.

2008 Unoaked Chardonnay
The Chardonnay grapes for this crispy ‘Sunshine Wine” were fermented and aged
entirely in stainless steel tanks. This departure from the tradition of oak-aging
showcases the varietal intensity and natural character of the grape and allows its
fruitiness to  predominate from the nose through the palate and into a long pleasing
finish.

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
The long sunny days and cool nights in the Columbia Valley set the stage for these
grapes to develop into a bold full-bodied wine with hearty tannins. Cellar aging in a
combination of American and French oak enhanced the layers of berries and spice on
the palate and the robust bouquet.

2007 Merlot
Our 2007 Merlot is bold, yet well balanced, showing complex aromas of bell pepper
and cherries with just a hint of cinnamon.  Its fresh acidity evolves into a smooth
palate with layers of berries, leather and spice on the palate with a crisp cherry finish.
We gave the berries extra hang-time in order to develop the ultimate ‘jamminess’ of
flavors. This Merlot was aged in a combination of French Oak and American Oak to
further its complexity and enhance its tannins.

2007 Syrah
This ruby-red Syrah has a clean blueberry nose with hints of freshly mown hay.  On
the palate it has a dry, warm, fresh acidity, and a balanced body with smooth woody
tannins.  The integration of oak is complemented by flavors of cherry, currant, slight
cocoa and mild black pepper.  These flavors hold throughout a long pleasing finish.

2007 Jill's Blend
Associate winemaker, Jill Peck, crafted this premium blend  from the dense residual
wine retrieved through multiple oak barrel rackings. This layered blend of Syrah,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec has an earthy chocolate nose, rich tannins
and bold flavors of berries and white pepper on the palate followed by a pleasant
blueberry finish.  It was aged in a combination of American and French oak which
accents its wonderful natural complexity.  This a limited edition wine that is only
available at the winery.

2008 Viognier
The micro-climate on the sunny slopes of Elephant Mountain south of Yakima, WA
provides the perfect ‘terroir’ for this often difficult to grow grape. At Dakota Creek we
meticulously transform hand-picked grapes into a rare wine having a complex orange
blossom and ripe apricot bouquet.  This wine has a creamy mouthfeel with layered
flavors of tropical fruit.

2007 Dessert Riesling
This elegant Dessert Riesling from Washington’s Wahluke Slope boasts brisk natural
acidity balanced with 12% residual sugar. The wine’s zesty lemon-lime, pear and
peach flavors are accompanied by just the right amount of sweetness to carry the
flavors through a long pleasant finish. The acid/sugar balance allows the wine to start
out sweet and finish with a refreshing dryness.
